Some California lawyers know that Clara Shortridge Foltz was the first woman admitted to the State Bar of California, or that she sued for admission to the Hastings College of Law. See, Foltz v. Hoge (1879) 54 Cal. 28. But few know of Ms. Foltz’s advocacy and other accomplishments in the areas of criminal law,
voting rights for women, and workers’ rights. Please join us for the first in a series of fascinating lectures by HLS alumnus John Caragozian on California Legal History. John welcomes questions and dialogue after his presentation.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by May 21, 2024.
Zoom link will be provided to registrants.
